On Saturday, July 19, volunteers will be taking part in another Check Your Watershed Day. CVC is coordinating this event in our upper watershed and we need everyone’s help to make this a success! Check Your Watershed Day is an annual, one-day event where you can get your feet wet and learn first-hand about the Credit River Watershed. We’re looking for 20 teams of three to five volunteers (individuals can volunteer too; we’ll put you on a team) to take surveys of stream crossings all around Orangeville, Caledon, Erin, and Halton Hills. This data will be collected to create an important “snap-shot” of the health of the Credit. After a short training session at Terra Cotta Conservation Area, volunteers will visit 5 or so sites with their Stream Team to collect required data, then return back to Terra Cotta Conservation Area to submit data and return equipment. Register at: http://www.eventbrite.ca/e/check-your-watershed-day-cywd-tickets-11874225127 We’re looking for anyone who may be interested in the Credit River or looking for volunteer hours to help out! Children 13 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult. Students aged 14 to 17 coming without an adult are required to have a parent or guardian sign our Youth Volunteer Waiver. Be sure to bring it with you on the day of the event! http://www.creditvalleyca.ca/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/CVCagreementform-youth.pdf
