National Youth Week Brampton All Day

Brampton has recently earned the prestigious platinum Play Works Youth Friendly Community status for 2013 – 2018. The City of Brampton is dedicated to continuously ensuring that youth have access to a diversity of “play”. However, from May 2-9th it is National Youth Week and there are a variety of special events planned for youth, including a Youth Jam, the 7th Annual Amazing Race High School Challenge presented by the Mayor’s Youth Team, a Youth Green Up Clean Up, a Career event which offers opportunities for youth to find their perfect career match, and an Open Mic Night.

Herb Walk 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Join Susan Elliotson as she looks at how people have used plants for healing since they first walked the earth. Healing herbs grow all around us, not just in exotic or distant places. Susan, a practicing herbalist, will lead these walks through Riverwood to identify herbs in their natural habitat and learn about their medicinal properties.

Astronomy Series Presented by RASC 9:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Explore the universe with members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. Large telescopes will be set up to give you amazing views of our Moon, the planets and more!

Location: Chappell House Lawn.

Please note: The event will be held on the first date shown – the second date is a back-up date in case skies are not suitable for star-gazing on the scheduled date.
