Heart Healthy Walk 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Join Mike Erison from the South Common Fitness Centre for a ‘walk and talk’ event at Riverwood. Get active this season. Come dressed to exercise and wear supportive footwear! Meet in the main parking lot at Riverwood.

Uncover Your Creeks @ Dellwood Park 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Take action to improve the health of your local watershed with citizen-science activities taking place across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and help ensure our waterways remain a vital and functioning part of the urban ecosystem.

• Monitor water quality
• Help manage invasive species in the local ecosystem
• Plant native plants
• Learn about the local ecology of your watershed

Dates: Thursday, May 21, June 18, July 16, August 20
Time: 6–8pm

Location and Meeting Place: Fleetwood Park is located on the south side of Burnhamthorpe Road East between the 427 and Dixie Road in Mississauga (L4X 2S8). An Evergreen staff member will meet volunteers in the parking lot.

Free Heart Screening Clinic for South Asian Community in Peel 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Polycultural Immigrant & Community Services, in cooperation with Heart & Stroke Foundation & RBC is organizing a Free Heart Screening Clinic for South Asians in Mississauga.
South Asians are at 3-5 times greater risk of developing heart disease or stroke, and at an earlier age.
-Women and their families are invited to attend this screening clinic to assess their risks for heart disease and stroke.
-Nurses and trained personnel will be onsite to conduct screening tests and address your health concerns.
-Separate clinics for women and men.

Amazing Green Race: Green Quest 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Amazing Green Race provides students in the Peel Region with various resources and strategies to support the environment, sustainable commuting and healthy living. Students will participate in fun and engaging activities that will help them recognize the benefits of using various modes of sustainable transportation available to them.

Student teams will race from checkpoint to checkpoint and learn about waste reduction, sustainable and active transportation, ecology and stewardship. After the race is completed, everyone will meet at the finish line for an environmental celebration! Here teams will be provided with delicious food and will have the opportunity to meet with peers from other schools, network with professionals from the environmental industry, and win great prizes for their team!

Carassauga Festival of Cultures 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Carassauga Festival is a 3-day multicultural event celebrating 30 years, showcasing 70 countries at different pavilions throughout Mississauga, depicting sights, sounds and tastes of each country. Admission is a Carassauga passport the costs $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Children 12 years and under are free when accompanied by an adult passport holder. Ride free on a MiWay or Carassauga shuttle bus during the festival hours by showing your Carassauga passports.
