Kicks For Cancer 2012 All Day

Kicks for Cancer is an exciting adult soccer tournament organized by the Canadian Cancer Society as a fundraiser. All net proceeds go directly towards the Canadian Cancer Society’s cancer research and support services. It is a fun filled weekend event with additional entertainment such as children’s activities, a Beer Garden and a BBQ. The event brings the community together to support a great cause while having an enjoyable time. Registration and more details are available on the event website. Register your team today!

Caledon Farmers' Market 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Caledon Farmers’ Market has been bringing locally grown and produced foods and other items to the residents and visitors of Caledon since 2009!

It features an assortment of locally grown and produced foods as well as arts and crafts made by local artisans.

There are weekly themes, events and activities for people of all ages.

RIVERWOOD LECTURE SERIES: "Fighting the Triffids: Invasives versus Bio 9:30 am - 11:00 am

Invasive species are a leading cause of biodiversity loss - threatening endangered species and outcompeting native plants, thus destroying essential food sources for birds and insects. This talk by Sean James, President of Fern Ridge Landscaping, will explore the importance of biodiversity to healthy gardens and what can be done to promote it.

All lecture events will meet at the MacEwan Field House at Riverwood Park, 4190 Riverwood Park Lane, Mississauga ON L5C 2S7.

Fun for Food Fair 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

The people of Heart Lake United Church would like to help impact the lives of families in need, and are in a unique position to be able to bridge the gap by expanding the “Helping Hearts” food program that currently exists there. On August 11, 2012, Heart Lake United Church will host a fundraiser, called the “Fun for Food Fair”, with the hope of bringing people together to support this outreach program in the community.

Price of admission will be a non-perishable food item, and all proceeds will support the opening of the community non-denominational emergency food cupboard.

The ‘Fun for Food Fair’ will include:

• Bouncy Houses and Slide
• Face painting and balloons
• Carnival Games and prizes
• Popcorn and cotton candy machines
• BBQ
• Pony Rides (2 tickets)
• Artisan Tables
• Raffle
And more!

Children’s activities are one ticket each: $1/ticket, $7/10, or $12/20.
