Poverty, Health & Homelessness in Peel Conference 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

On October 23 & 24, join us for this two-day conference exploring challenges and solutions to poverty and homelessness in Peel region. Presented by Sheridan College, the Health & Homelessness Steering Committee and the Peel Poverty Reduction Strategy Committee. Speakers include: Michael Shapcott, Wellesley Institute, Grace-Edward Galabuzi, Ryerson University, Deena Ladd, Workers Action Centre, Matthew Mendelson, Mowat Institute, Dr. Ritika Goel, Inner City Health Associates, Tom Cooper, Hamilton Roundtable on Poverty Reduction.

Delta's 3rd Annual Stuff the Bus Challenge 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

Delta Meadowvale and Delta Toronto Airport West will once again Stuff the Bus on Wednesday, October 24th in support of the Mississauga Food Bank, who serves almost two million meals each year to local residents in need. The event will see employees from the two hotels drive their hotel-airport shuttle bus to local businesses, collecting non-perishable food items in support of the Mississauga Food Bank. The Delta team has successfully raised a total of 6,168 lbs of food in previous years.

PAMA -Tai Chi & Chai Tea 10:00 am - 11:00 am

If you’ve ever been curious about Tai Chi, both a great source of exercise and a form of moving meditation, here’s your chance to try the basic “form.” Afterwards, there will be time for tea and a chance to meet your classmates.

Precarious Employment Photovoice Exhibit 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us on October 24 at Sheridan College, Brampton Campus (Centre for Healthy Communities) for this important photo exhibit and stories that will increase our understanding of the impact of precarious employment on neighbourhoods. Event is free but pre-registration required. Note, this exhibit takes place after the Poverty, Health & Homelessness Conference.
