The title of Tanya Mullings’ 4th album, “Music is My Life,” best describes her journey. Credited by The Canadian Encyclopedia as a pioneering female reggae artist, her career began in the early 1990s.
Over the years, Mullings has won many Canadian Reggae Music Awards, and received 6 Juno nominations. She was inducted into the Brampton Arts Walk of Fame in 2015. She was featured in an episode of Heart Beat, a 2007 documentary series that aired on Bravo.
Tanya Mullings now hosts a weekly radio show on G98.7 FM, and a program on Zingo TV. She was managed by Karl Mullings, her father. He worked with noted acts like Jackie Mittoo and The Sheiks. He was also a co-founder of Caribana, in 1967.
