Beautiful friendships
Norma and Ada are a wonderful example of the human drive for connection and friendship. Creating spaces and opportunities for connections to happen are an important part of supporting emotional wellbeing and the feeling of home.
Norma and Ada have developed a deep and caring friendship through their dementia. Norma is a voracious knitter and Ada sits by her side, sipping her tea, and holding Norma’s wool. They walk hand-in-hand to meals, visit in each other’s rooms, and spend quiet time sitting together in companiable silence. The love of friendship is still possible with dementia.
