Parkinson SuperWalk 2012 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

2012 marks the 22nd anniversary of Superwalk, Parkinson Society’s annual fundraising event. In 2011, a record $3 million dollars was raised nationally through SuperWalk, funding 28 research projects as well as providing resources for education, advocacy and support services to the over 100,000 Canadians living with this debilitating disease. This year, it is our goal to raise $3 million, $900, 000 of which is hoped to come from generous supporters in Central and Northern Ontario.

The Mississauga SuperWalk will be held on Saturday, September 8th at the Living Arts Centre, with registration beginning at 9:30 am. This is a fun family event with participants ranging from infancy and on! You can even register your family as a team. Everyone is welcome!

With your help we can provide a better life and a brighter future for Canadians living with Parkinson’s today. A world without Parkinson’s tomorrow. For more information on SuperWalk and to register or sponsor a walker please visit www.parkinsonsuperwalk.ca or call 1.800.565.3000.

RIVERWOOD LECTURE SERIES: “Mississauga’s Deer" 9:30 am - 11:00 am

With an expanding human population and many changes in the built environment, the response of white-tailed deer to Mississauga’s growth, development, and habitat fragmentation is largely unknown. Students at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) have spent the past year examining white-tailed deer behaviour at three UTM campus sites in response to human activity, vegetation, weather, and species interaction. Join Teresa Didiano, one of the students involved in this project for a look into the deer’s world.

All lecture events will meet at the MacEwan Field House at Riverwood Park, 4190 Riverwood Park Lane, Mississauga ON L5C 2S7.
