Vaccine handling and storage

Storage and handling guidelines, and reporting or returning vaccines.

All facilities that store publicly funded vaccines must follow the Ministry of Health vaccine storage and handling guidelines.

Also refer to recommended vaccine refrigerator temperature monitoring devices from Peel Public Health.

Reporting and returning unused vaccines

Peel Public Health accepts the return of expired, excess, or wasted vaccines (not including COVID-19 vaccine). Publicly funded vaccines that are deemed unusable (e.g., affected by a cold chain failure) or expired should be returned to Peel Public Health as soon as possible.

To report and return unused vaccines:

Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(closed from 12 to 1 p.m.)

Fairview
325 Central Parkway West, Unit 21, Mississauga
Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hurontario
7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga
Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
