Sanitary sewer replacement and improvement
Construction notice. Kennedy Road North. Project 15-2153
The Region of Peel has been working in your neighborhood to install a new sanitary sewer and maintenance holes (commonly referred to as manholes) along Kennedy Road North and Conservation Drive.
Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a wastewater treatment plant. Wastewater is created when water goes down the drain or is flushed down the toilet. As our population grows, we need to build larger sewers to keep providing high quality wastewater services.
Project details
The work is being completed by Technicore Underground Inc. and is supported by EXP, both under contract to the Region of Peel.
This work will be completed underground in tunnels, and will not require digging trenches in your neighbourhood. Aboveground construction activities will be mainly limited to a few fenced areas which will provide access for the tunneling equipment to enter the tunnel.
Construction schedule update
At this stage of the project, we have created six access points for the tunnel along the planned route for the new sewer. In January 2023, we will begin tunneling underground on Kennedy Road North using the access points near your neighbourhood. We expect to complete this construction work in the summer of 2023.
Working hours
Our contractors normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with the local municipalitys bylaws. We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but shorter working days would require this area to be under construction for a longer period of time.

You could feel slight vibrations from the construction work.
