Notification of temporary road closure
The Gore Road at Mayfield Road - Project 16-1177
We wish to thank you for your patience and courtesy while our construction takes place along Mayfield Road. Watermain installation is proceeding east from The Gore Road along Mayfield Road towards Coleraine Drive over the next several months.
This project notice is to inform you that The Gore Road will be closed to all traffic at a localized location just north of Mayfield Road. During this time, a detour route will be in place to assist traffic approaching or using The Gore Road. We ask that during this time, please drive carefully and obey the detour signs and temporary posted speed limits. There may be some minor delays at certain times, at the intersection of Mayfield Road and The Gore Road, so we ask for your patience. We will try to keep the delays to a minimum.
What are we doing?
- Removing unsuitable soils found during the watermain installation, at the northeast corner of The Gore Road and Mayfield Road intersection.
Why?
- Unsuitable soils will be replaced with suitable soils to accommodate the construction of the future road widening on Mayfield Road.
When?
- The road closure is expected to occur on July 12, 2021 for approximately 2 weeks (weather dependent).

What does this mean for you?
- Vehicles will be diverted around the closed section, as per the attached map.
- Access to all homes and businesses on The Gore Road will be available from Healey Road.
