Update on construction in your area
Indian Grove. Project 13-1347 H1
The Region of Peel has replaced the aging watermain on Indian Grove as part of our maintenance program. The previous watermain was installed in the 1950s and was at the end of its lifespan.
A larger watermain that provides water to the Lorne Park area was installed along with the smaller (local) watermain on Indian Grove. The local watermain is on one side of the street with the larger watermain on the opposite side of the street.
Completed work
The Contractor has:
- Installed subdrain (underground drain) on the east side of Indian Grove, starting at the north end and working south.
- Installed concrete curb on the east side of Indian Grove.
Coming up in the next few weeks
Curb and sidewalk repairs
The Contractor will:
- Finish any remaining curb and sidewalk installation on Indian Grove.
- Install new curb and sidewalk on sections of Indian Road at Indian Grove.
Residents can have their sprinkler systems repaired once concrete curb has been installed.
Road and driveway paving
Paving was delayed due to weather and supply chain issues and will now start the week of July 25, 2022.
The Contractor will:
- Repair the concrete median on Indian Road.
- Remove asphalt on Indian Grove.
- Start paving Indian Grove including repairs to asphalt driveways.
Please do not park on the street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during road paving operations.
You may not have access to your driveway while paving operations are crossing your property. The Contractor will coordinate with residents that have asphalt driveways being restored. Please contact us if you have special needs related to access.
Final repairs
Once paving has been completed, the Contractor will repair non-asphalt driveways (such as interlock or concrete driveways) and replace the sod (grass) where it was damaged by our watermain construction activities.
Reducing the impact of construction
- For everyone’s safety, please take care and slow down when driving through the active construction area. It is safer if residents access their property from the south end of Indian Grove if their property is south of the active construction area, and from the north end if their property is north of construction.
- If we must shut off your water because of an emergency, we will do everything we can to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
- We will let you know if there are any significant project changes.
