Watermain replacement and improvement
The Thicket, Project 21-1310 M
The Region of Peel has been working in your neighborhood to replace the watermain on The Thicket.
- Replaced the watermain,
- Connected properties to the new watermain by replacing individual water service pipes and boxes on The Thicket,
The remaining work has been put on hold due to the weather. We will shut down for the winter on December 23, 2022. We will leave the construction site in a safe condition until we return in the Spring of 2023 to complete restoration.
Schedule for remaining construction and repair work
We expect to start work again in May of 2023 to complete the following:
- Repairing of driveways, road, curbs, sidewalk and sod (grass) where disturbed by the watermain replacement and associated work. Our repairs will be temporary as the City of Mississauga is planning to complete a Road Resurfacing in 2024. Following the Citys resurfacing work, they will complete permanent restoration of curbs, driveways, sidewalks and the road.
- We plan to complete this work by mid 2023. More details about restoration will be shared in a follow-up notice.
Settlement of the ground
It is normal for repaired areas to settle a bit in the coming months. If you notice large potholes forming in the driveway, street, lawn or boulevard, please let us know and we will ensure the contractor fixes this.
