Sanitary sewer replacement and improvement
Fair Birch Drive and Birchview Drive. Project 18-2300 C
The Region of Peel has been working in your neighbourhood to replace the aging sanitary sewer just north of Fair Birch Drive, along the Lornewood creek water course. This work is required to maintain and improve existing wastewater services.
At this stage of the project, we have:
- Installed the replacement sanitary sewer along Birchview Drive,
- Completed the tunnel drive between the compound mid-way on Fair Birch Drive to the compound at Fair Birch Drive and Birchview Drive.
Project update
While continuing to work on the sewer from the compound at Fair Birch Drive and Birchview Drive, we will be setting up the last compound of our tunneling project. This compound is located at the east end of Fair Birch Drive.
The compound area is shown in the sketch below. Setup of the compound is expected as early as June 26, 2023.
Minor tree removals/trimmings took place on April 11th, 2023. No further impact to trees in the area are planned. Trees in the vicinity of the work area will be protected by fencing (similar to what can be observed along Fair Birch Drive). Environmental protection will be in place in agreement with the permit we have to work within the conservation area.
We anticipate requiring this compound till November 2023.
