Watermain replacement and improvement
Road Paving on Dixie Road between Highway 401 and Britannia Road
The Region of Peel is working in your area to replace the watermain on Dixie Road in the vicinity of Highway 401.
Some upcoming work will take place during the day and overnight, in order to pave the road. Night time works are required due to the volume of traffic on Dixie Road. Completing the works during the day would require extensive lane closures resulting in unmanageable traffic delays. We apologize in advance for any associated inconveniences.
Schedule
Works are expected to take place from May 10th and continuing until May 26th, 2023. Additional nights may be required due to unpredictable delays, such as poor weather conditions.
Traffic impacts
This work will require various lane closures. As well, Shawson Drive at Dixie Road will need to be closed some nights to complete the paving works. Signage in the area will be placed advising of any full closures of Shawson Drive.
Noise
We do not anticipate significant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels during these operations. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to local businesses as much as possible.

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
